Frequently asked questions
Cosmetic dentistry refers to dental procedures and treatments that will enhance the appearance of the teeth. General dentistry focuses on oral health whilst cosmetic dentistry is about improving the aesthetics of the teeth. It can correct dental imperfections such as tooth discolouration, gaps and chips. Cosmetic dentistry includes treatments such as whitening, edge bonding, veneers, implants, and whitening.
The cost can vary. Take a look at our treatment fees to find out how much each treatment is. We also offer treatment plans to suit different budgets so that you are aware of the costs before you begin treatment.
Most cosmetic dentistry procedures are performed under local anaesthetic to ensure you are comfortable and experience minimal pain during treatment. The level of discomfort depends on your procedure. Our dentists can talk you through the process to alleviate any concerns you may have.
The length of time dental work will take depends upon which procedure you are having. Teeth whitening may be done at home, or in a single visit, 2-hour appointment whilst dental implants may require multiple appointments spread over a few months. Crown and bridgework are usually carried out over two visits as the laboratory work will take some time to return to us.
Yes, all our procedures are carried out by qualified and professional dentists. We have an unrivalled reputation for providing excellent results.
With care, we expect our cosmetic treatments to last you for many years to come. Teeth whitening will typically last 2-4 years, depending on your diet, but we stock top-up whitening syringes if you need to refresh your smile.
This depends on the issue with your teeth. If they are badly damaged then a crown is likely more suitable to help protect the remaining tooth and the gums. If you’re looking to enhance the aesthetics of an otherwise healthy tooth then a veneer is usually the better option and less invasive compared to a crown.
